Each table is adorned with individual candelabras, giving off a soft light throughout the Restaurant. Overall, the casual yet sophisticated atmosphere beautifully represents the classic traditions of the French culinary experience.
The Mediterranean influences, combined with the personal touch of the owner insure the customer has a unique and very fulfilling dining experience. The hors d’oeuvres are absolutely quintessential with offerings such as Escargots a la Bourguignon, or an assortment of imported cheese and pates with fresh French breads.
La Vache is also renown for their seafood entrees, which they prepare with an array of some amazing French sauces. There is also an extensive menu featuring French standards such as Veal Stew Casserole, Rack of Lamb and Filet Mignon, or Gourmet French Pizzas and special dishes such as the French Boeuf Bourguignon; tender beef simmered in luscious red wine sauce, mushrooms, onions, red potatoes and a dash of Dijon and French sauces.
The Wines have been selected by an expert sommelier from the best French and Californian wineries. The selection includes some very elegant and moderately prices selections. On Tuesday nights there is a special Prix Fixe dinner menu as well as the regular menu. The $17.50 Prix Fixe menu is an excellent three-course dinner. Also, the same Prix Fixe dinner is offered for a short time between 5-6pm every night. Tuesday nights are very popular, but if you are willing the short wait is well worth the experience.
La Vache is also a very popular lunch spot. The restaurant lunch hours are relatively long, starting in the late morning and running into the early part of the evening. This time span allows for a few turns throughout the day.
La vache’s lunch specialties include some very fine and dare say majestic salads and homemade soups. The signature Shepard Salad (crisp fresh greens with walnuts, pear, olives, Roquefort, parmesan topped with Goat cheese flan), the Grilled salmon Caesar salad, and their Famous Calamari Salad are each uniquely fantastic.
